Upon arrival, a valet asks the customer for a mobile number. The SMS Valet® app assigns that number to a reusable plastic key tag and sends a Welcome Text to the customer with instructions for requesting their vehicle. After the customer hands over the keys, the valet affixes the identifying key tag and parks the vehicle.
The valet parks the car and affixes an identifying hang tag on the mirror. The valet can write the location on the plastic key tag and/or enter the it and any other information into the SMS Valet® app.
When it’s time to depart, the customer sends a request via text, which the valet receives as a notification on the SMS Valet® app. On the device, the tag will appear Blue representing the “Request” state. After the valet retrieves the vehicle, the tag will either turn Green if customer fees have been collected, or Red if not.
Once the customer claims their vehicle, the tag is closed out and removed from the device allowing for re-use.
